Many of our students opt to stay with a local family while they are here studying in Nicaragua. This is a great option for those who really want the “complete immersion” experience. You will eat meals with the family (of course, its not mandatory that you eat every meal with them), hang out, chat and spend family time.
The benefits to this set-up are obvious; you get 24 hours of Spanish practice and you get to see how Nicaraguans live. It is not for everybody however, as it consists of a single room with a fan and a shared bathroom. A homestay is a great option for most students and this option is available at all of our locations.
There are hostels in all of the cities where we have study programs and they are all near the schools. They range in cost from $16 a day to about $30 a day, again depending on your desired level of comfort and privacy. Just ask and we will direct you to local hostels.
Homestays and hostels are not for everyone. Some of us really want to sleep in air-conditioned comfort and like some ammenities. Just ask and we can let you know of hotels in the area of the school you will attend and get you reserved!
Each of the locations have hotels within walking distance and they range anywhere from $45-$175/night. Just let us know what you are looking for and we will help you set it up.
